  • It's the holiday season...but we cannot forget about the simple things in life, like NATURE! Please join us for our year-end Oleta Parkland Project Volunteer Day...litter cleanup plus invasive plant removal...and we'll plant new native plants too!

    Help us to give back to Mother Nature one last time in 2016 at Oleta!

Join us - Friends of Oleta Greenspace Event Planting, Invasives Removal + Cleanup at the Parkland lot, corner of 163rd St & Biscayne Blvd.


The native beach sunflowers are thriving but invasives are coming back quickly too.  Hope to see you this Saturday at the Oleta parkland on 163rd Street & Biscayne blvd for planting, invasive removal + a cleanup. 

Registrants will get a free Friends of Oleta t-shirt as a special holiday gift to show our immense gratitude!

Event guidelines/tips:
It is best to wear solid shoes/sun protective clothes/hat and sunscreen. Please bring a REFILLABLE/USABLE WATER BOTTLE for cold water refills.  We will provide gloves for you.  Or, feel free if 
you would like to bring your favorite gloves for the cleanup or digging around in the dirt!  We will have sunscreen and bug spray onsite too.

COMMUNITY SERVICE credits available to students volunteering. Kids under 15 MUST be supervised by an adu
lt unless prearranged /confirmed with the Friends directly - feel free to call or email us.
