The Friends Cleanup to honor International Coastal Cleanup (ICC) Day - global initiative led by the Ocean Conservancy
The Friends are hosting a shoreline cleanup on September 19 at Oleta River State Park as part of the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup Day. We will begin signing in volunteers @8:45AM and the cleanup about 1/2 hour later. Our fabulous donors are providing some energy and fuel with Starbucks coffee and Winn Dixie snacks and fruit. Please meet the Friends at the Osprey pavilion (east of Parking lot 6) - please look for the blue Coastal Cleanup sign) - the front gate attendant can direct you there. Please make sure to wear solid shoes/sun protective clothes/hat/sunscreen and gloves. Please bring a REFILLABLE WATER BOTTLE for cold water refills. NO SINGLE USE PLASTIC bottles allowed at this litter-free event. COMMUNITY SERVICE credits available to students volunteering. Kids under 15 MUST be supervised by adult.
